There is this notion that children are somehow “innocent”, that you come into this world with a clean moral slate, and only because of your environment do you become an evildoer. The fact is even infants are selfish and self-centered. They believe the world revolves around them and that only their needs matter. That’s the source of everything bad, right there. Babies just don’t have the knowledge or the physical ability to cause real harm. There is nothing wrong with allowing them to face :the consequences of their actions. Racial bias in the justice system is one matter, whether it matters that America sentences kids to life in prison, is another.
