Yes, this is the United States in 2007. You know all those stories you heard about the Old South, the constant racial slurs, the strict segregation along racial lines, the KKK, the good ol’ boy network? They are real and alive in North Central Florida. This is the land of the Rebel Flag plate on the front of your boss’s pickup truck and the “N” word said to the face of a black person. There is no hyperbole here, no race-baiting BS for the sake of stirring up trouble. There actually places in the USA untouched by notions of racial equality or civil rights. This needs to be publicized, America has been in denial for way too long.
